Speaker Chenault responds to a question during Finance's hearing on his bill, HB 369
House Speaker Mike Chenault, R-Nikiski, (seated at the table, middle)responding to a question from Representative Anna Fairclough, R-Eagle River, today during the House Finance Committee’s hearing on his bill, HB 369. The Committee voted to move the bill to the Rules Committee for scheduling a floor vote. HB 369 proposes creating the Joint In-State Gasline Development Team to unify state efforts to secure a gasline to serve the Railbelt. The Committee Substitute, or CS, for the bill changes the development team’s Chair to the President of the Alaska Housing Finance Corporation or his designee, among other changes. Speaker Chenault supports the change, which follows the selection of Alaska Railroad President Pat Gamble as the new President of the University of Alaska.
