(Anchorage) - Alaska State House Energy Co-Chair Charisse Millett, R-Anchorage, received the David P. Hutchens Public Service Award at the Alaska Power Association's 59th Annual Meeting in Fairbanks.
The Statewide Energy Policy was a tremendous collaborative effort. I'm humbled to receive this award alongside Rep. Edgmon.
~ Rep. Charisse Millett
During the 26th Alaska State Legislature, Millett along with Co-Chair Rep. Bryce Edgmon, D-Dillingham, led a diverse group of Alaskans with decades of experience in energy issues to draft the State Energy Policy, which was signed into law in June. The policy establishes a comprehensive energy policy addressing both nonrenewable and renewable forms of energy and sets long term goals for renewable energy production in Alaska.
"The Statewide Energy Policy was a tremendous collaborative effort," Rep. Millett said. "I'm humbled to receive this award alongside Rep. Edgmon. The recognition is very nice after two sessions of hard work along with my co-chair, and energy experts and shareholders from all over the state. It was a group undertaking, and I'm proud of what we as a legislature and as a state accomplished."
Rep. Millett proudly shares the 2010 David P. Hutchens Public Service Award with Rep. Edgmon.
