Lynn Intro's Military Adult Consumption Bill
| HB 210 Would Allow Under-21 Active Duty Members Adult Privileges Off-Post |
Posted: March 28, 2011 (Juneau) - House State Affairs Committee Chair, and Vietnam Veteran, Rep. Bob Lynn, R-Anchorage, today introduced a bill that would enable all active duty warriors in our U.S. Armed Forces to be treated as adults, regardless of age. House Bill 210 proposes permitting active duty service members under age 21 to consume alcoholic beverages and use tobacco products in Alaska.
"It's outrageous that a member of our military can be subjected to the horrors of war, but can't legally have a beer or smoke a cigarette," Lynn said. "Any soldier who braves military combat and risks their life for this country should be treated like an adultin every sense of the word." # # #
