A Summary of News & Events from Alaska's State House for Thursday - 02/23/12:
H Floor Session: The House met jointly with the Senate to hear the annual address from U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski. Video of the Joint Session is available courtesy of Gavel Alaska.
H FIN Subcmtee MVA: The committee held the final mission, core service and performance review along with a budget closeout.
H Health & Social Services: The committee met with the Senate's Health & Social Services Committee to hear a presentation from the Key Campaign.
H State Affairs: HR 10, Oppose National Popular Vote for President, passed out of committee while HJR 33, Amend the U.S. Constitution Regarding Campaign Money, was heard and held.
H FIN Subcmtee University of Alaska: The committee performed a budget closeout.
H Resources: The committee hosted a Lunch & Learn titled Natural Gas & LNG Fundamentals.
H Finance: An update on the governor's domestic violence & sexual assault programs was heard. HB 125, Alcoholic Beverage Control Board, passed out of committee. A sub-committee was created for SB 23, Film Production Tax Credit/Audit, to further review the bill.
H Energy: The committee continued with a presentation of the Southeast Alaska Integrated Resource Plan.
H FIN Subcmtee - Labor & Workforce Development: The committee reviewed the governor's amendments for the FY13 budget.
H FIN Subcmtee Revenue: The committee performed a budget closeout.
H Fisheries: The committee passed out HB 100 as amended and HJR 10.
