A Summary of News & Events from Alaska's State House for Monday - 03/26/12:

H Floor Session: The House passed HB 78, Incentives for Certain Medical Providers, HB 264, Municipal Property Tax Deferral: Subdivisions, HB 340, Petersville Recreational Mining Area, HJR 32, Removing Wood Bison from Endangered List, and SB 86, Protection of Vulnerable Adults/Minors. SJR 11, National Women's History Museum, was received from the Senate for consideration.

H Education: The committee heard a presentation from Teach of the Year, Cara Heitz of Cordova. SB 199, Vocational Education Funding Factor, moved from committee while SB 170, Vocational Education Counseling in School, was heard and held.

H Judiciary: HB 343, Disclosure of Children's Records, was heard and held.

H Resources: A discussion was held with Canada's Federal Northern Pipeline Agency. HJR 40, RS 2477 Rights-of-Way, and HB 191, Department of Agriculture and Food, were heard and held.

Finance: The committee continued an education overview on Standards, Testing, Graduation Rates, and Moore Case Settlement Update by Commissioner Michael Hanley, Dept. of Education and Early Development.

H Labor & Commerce: HB 218, Prescription Drug Specialty Tiers, moved from committee while HB 259, Pharmacy Audits, was heard and held.
